I've been spending a bit of time in Second Life getting used to the controls and tweaking my Avatar for the Blogpower Awards. Tom Paine has been very helpful to a number of us, showing us around and tolerating our newbie incompetence.
This afternoon, we went on a virtual Gondola ride round Venice and crashed a Mercedes.
He mentioned a while back that he has a Tardis in his garden- he certainly does. You have to be a Time Lord to fly it though!
He also showed us his party piece- arriving in an additional Tardis (or two).
No sign of the Chipster yet. I'll make a deal- I'll grow a rug for the awards- if he wears a Tuxedo.

A pleasure sadly denied me at this time, due to non-functioning videocard.
Oh, I must get onto it! I hate downloading new stuff, though - it always makes something else go wrong and I panic! Tell me truly, Deli, is SL difficult?
It isn't difficult, although confusing if you don't follow the orientation session at the start and just leap in the deep end (Like Corporate Presenter).
Ruthie has taken to it like a Pro and looks like a million dollars.
I've just bought a suit, although I now owe Tom Paine $500 (or roughly two US Dollars in real money).
NotSassure and I went for a ride with Tom on his new Airship. Surreal or what?
Get yourself over there, think of the shopping...
James, has your graphics card clapped out or is it a driver problem?
I had he latter with the home office PC but sorted it once my ISP let me pull the latest set down.
Welshcakes, it will be no problem for a women of your calibre. I am waiting to take you shopping for shoes.
I couldn't get it to work on my home computer, but it works nicely on my work computer. Just have to figure out how to function. I jumped in like Corporate Presenter. I will take some lessons and get my six year old to explain.
You look very sharp in your suit!
Tom is really something, isn't he? Thank heavens we have him to show us around.
all I had was NotSaussure to show me around :(
Of course he did invite me into his apartment and give me a beer ^^
I joined BlogPower and decided that SL hates my satellite connection (I move somewhat after I tell it to do it, so I miss my mark quite abit)
Oooh looks like someone's having fun wasting the day away :) Awesome, isn't it? When I was still into video gaming, I must've wasted away half my life -- but I tell you, it was all worth it!!!
I must admit, I'm dreading getting the hang of this- which is why I've put off doing it.
I'm hoping to take the plunge at some point.
You are all braver than me, it seems.
CBI: I still like online video games, so wasn't much of a plunge for me :)
(Lineage 1 & 2 and now another turn at WoW to pass the time)
It is great fun! Every time I nip back to the Awards Hall, LastDitch has added something new.
I had a nice virtual beer in LastDitch's local, an Irish Pub next to an Art Gallery. (It is snowing there). Thunderdragon and Devils Kitchen kept me company.
I had a problem with furry skin today, but I worked it out. (David wanted me to grow a tail so I ended up looking like a fox).
I don't know, I just saw elsewhere there's a problem getting it working on Vista.
I did used to play the odd video game, I spent months on Halflife.
This is all becoming too sort of real! Spooky.
